NASSAU (January 28, 2013) -- Winners of the 15th Cacique Awards came from across the length of the islands of The Bahamas when they revealed at a black-tie affair Sunday at Rainforest Theater.
In publicly nominated categories such as Sustain Tourism Development, Bimini Field Station, also known as the Shark Lab, won the award. Tristan Gouttridge, director of the Field Station, urged Bahamians to protect the environment and wildlife that make The Bahamas special.
The 14th Cacique Awards brought inspiration for younger generations seeking to make a mark in tourism as the Lifetime Achievement Award recipient delivered a heartfelt message of encouragement.
William “Bill” Saunders, president of Majestic Tours, specifically addressed young Bahamians while accepting his duho trophy at the Rainforest Theatre, Wyndham Nassau Resort. He said the Bahamas is a wonderful country and Bahamians have much for which they should be thankful.
